Silver Dollar City, Easter, and More

Our computer got fixed and we are now able to post more pictures. Kolby is growing up so fast and I don't think I have a little baby anymore, he is a little kid! He is into everything. He can open doors (even with child knob protectors!) and unlock them. He is really starting to understand directions and able to communicate better. I am better at understanding Kolby speech than Clint is right now. Kolby loves to help me around the house. His new thing is to pick up any laundry and put it in the basket. I have found some ramdom items in my laundry! His fits have also gotten bigger! If he doesn't get his way he throws himself down on the floor. He now has a 'fit' corner to go to when he wants to be that way. So far it has helped. I think our greatest joy is when Kolby cuddles up with us during the day. He likes to be with mommy in the morning and daddy at night.

Last Wednesday Kolby started taking gymnastics class. He is doing pretty good with it. He wanted to explore the gym and not do what was asked. Hopefully he will get the hang of it soon!

Kolby finally gave up and went to sleep on Daddy's lap.

More Pictures!

Clint and I took Kolby's crib out of his room over spring break. He is officially sleeping in a big boy bed. A plus (and minus) is he can get out of his bed by himself, open his bedroom door, and come downstairs. Sometimes it takes 2 times to get him out of his bed. He has gotten up twice in the middle of the night. THe first time I found him by the couch with the controler saying "Toons" at 3am. Last night he somehow ended up in our bed. I don't remember him coming to us but woke up to see him cuddling with Clint.

Kolby is just growing too fast!

This week is my spring break so we are taking advantage of my extra time at home. This weekend we switched Kolby to his big boy bed. He had a full already in his room so Clint and I bought rails and put them up on Sunday. So far he has only slept in the bed. We have been having some problems with going to bed. We think his teeth and ears have been bothering him so he has been extra clingy at bedtime. I love laying in bed with him and reading him books. He is actually able to sit through a whole book or two every night. It is great to be able to have him get out of bed on his own in the morning. I have gotten a little more sleep.

I know it is early but we have started potty training. He is so interested in it and comes to us and says pee or poopy. Normally he has just gone. He likes to sit on the potty. We bought him his own little one! I don't have expectations for being trained anytime soon but we are encouraging it.

Kolby's newest trick is opening doors. I can't keep him out of any room! He is so fast it amazes me.

Tomorrow we are going to get pictures taken tomorrow at JCPennys so I will post those when I get them.

Videos

I loved editing and publishing these videos. Kolby sat with me today as we watched them back. He loved laughing at himself and even would repeat what was being said.

Kolby loves dancing and even singing along!

Fun Projects

First, I want to share that I finally received my diploma for my master's in the mail. It finally hits home that I have graduated with a Masters in Education (emphasis educational technology leadership) from the University of Arkansas!

Yesterday I took advantage of Clint being home and worked on a little project I have been thinking about. I love to sew and have been making rag quilts. I was finishing up my mom's yesterday. I had been thinking about designing a diaper bag that fit my needs better. I was currently using a backpack as the purchased diaper bag was too small. However, both bags had only 1 large compartment and several small zipper spots. I found the diapers got squished and things were always a mess. Plus there wasn't ever room for anything extra. So, I designed this bag! It has 3 spots insided divided by fabric. I have a spot for diapers w/ wipes, a spot for clothes, and the a spot for diaper cream etc. There is enough room on top for me to place his blanket or other items if needed. It is light weight and washable. I made it from receiving blankets purchased at goodwill. In reality it only cost about $8 to make and I had fun! It was a design in my head that I was able to make a reality.
