Kolby is just growing too fast!

This week is my spring break so we are taking advantage of my extra time at home. This weekend we switched Kolby to his big boy bed. He had a full already in his room so Clint and I bought rails and put them up on Sunday. So far he has only slept in the bed. We have been having some problems with going to bed. We think his teeth and ears have been bothering him so he has been extra clingy at bedtime. I love laying in bed with him and reading him books. He is actually able to sit through a whole book or two every night. It is great to be able to have him get out of bed on his own in the morning. I have gotten a little more sleep.

I know it is early but we have started potty training. He is so interested in it and comes to us and says pee or poopy. Normally he has just gone. He likes to sit on the potty. We bought him his own little one! I don't have expectations for being trained anytime soon but we are encouraging it.

Kolby's newest trick is opening doors. I can't keep him out of any room! He is so fast it amazes me.

Tomorrow we are going to get pictures taken tomorrow at JCPennys so I will post those when I get them.

Videos

I loved editing and publishing these videos. Kolby sat with me today as we watched them back. He loved laughing at himself and even would repeat what was being said.

Kolby loves dancing and even singing along!

Fun Projects

First, I want to share that I finally received my diploma for my master's in the mail. It finally hits home that I have graduated with a Masters in Education (emphasis educational technology leadership) from the University of Arkansas!

Yesterday I took advantage of Clint being home and worked on a little project I have been thinking about. I love to sew and have been making rag quilts. I was finishing up my mom's yesterday. I had been thinking about designing a diaper bag that fit my needs better. I was currently using a backpack as the purchased diaper bag was too small. However, both bags had only 1 large compartment and several small zipper spots. I found the diapers got squished and things were always a mess. Plus there wasn't ever room for anything extra. So, I designed this bag! It has 3 spots insided divided by fabric. I have a spot for diapers w/ wipes, a spot for clothes, and the a spot for diaper cream etc. There is enough room on top for me to place his blanket or other items if needed. It is light weight and washable. I made it from receiving blankets purchased at goodwill. In reality it only cost about $8 to make and I had fun! It was a design in my head that I was able to make a reality.

There is so MUCH snow!

I believe it snowed about 6 inches outside. They were originally calling for more but I think it is enough! Kolby loves looking outside. We went outside yesterday to play for a while. He is gradually becoming more playful in the snow.

2 weeks ago Kolby fell at the sitters and got his first fat lip. The little guy just doesn't slow down!

Kolby's Hat

I took this picture with my phone today so it isn't the best quality. Kolby has been acting like such a grown up. He LOVES to brush his teeth and is really into Mommy's lotion. He helps pick up and it actually drives me nuts. He puts my shoes on the mat by the door and puts my sweatshirts on the chair with Daddy's coats. He puts his bowls in the sink with lots of stretching! The cutest thing was 2 days ago he "spilled" his cheerios in the kitchen. I watched him for about 15 minutes pick up all the cheerios and throw them away. Then he took a wet wipe and cleaned the floor like I do when he spills something messy. He is too much like his Daddy! I am going to have to get this boy to be more messy!

Another Christmas and SNOW!

On New Year's Eve we went over to my parents for Christmas. It was a great time. Dad cooked steaks and we were able to spend time with Grandmother Gordon and Kyle. Kolby got a little tykes laptop, basketball goal, jammies, and more cars. He loves all of them and is really playing with the basketball goal. We hung it on his gate and it is the first thing he goes to in the morning.

Today we woke up to about 3 inches of snow. Clint and I took Kolby out for about 30 minutes. He LOVED IT! He had trouble walking but wanted to help Daddy shovel the snow. He cried when we brought him in. Once we peeled all his layers off he went right down for a nap. It was a really fun experience.

Kolby and I took advantage of a warm day (40 degrees!) and took his 4 wheeler out for a drive. We are still working on steering.
